Aven Comstock

The year was 2006, and Aven and I had just graduated from High School. For me, it was the magical summer between high school and college, where I still lived at my parents house in Missoula, yet was counting down the days until I moved 200 miles away to Bozeman. I skated as much as I could and was very interested in photography, especially of the skateboarding variety. This spot was an existing jersey barrier that someone had poured concrete onto, making a skate-able transition. This was the only time I had ever skated it, and now it is defunct. I was just figuring out how to use my off-camera flash, and I am surprised that this came out as good as it did. This photo just reminds me of skateboarding in high school with good friends.

Butte

Butte America can best be described as "unique". Butte is often seen as "run down", yet the people still seem to make life work here. The town itself is full of interesting humans and architecture, which is a major attraction to photographers such as myself. I hope that these boarded up homes are not a possible foreshadowing of the end of Butte.

Jumping Spider

I noticed this spider hanging out on my windowsill and decided to get a few photos of it with a new macro lens.

Fletcher Eidum - Cascade Montana

Went on a trip yesterday from Bozeman up to Great Falls. We stopped in windy Cascade for a quick session at their pre-fab skatepark. Every grind-able surface was unbelievably waxed, yet Fletcher had no problem with the pivot fakie.

Dave Biesel

This is a process called mortencage. Basically, you place finished prints into a tray of potentially deadly chemicals and wait for it to dissolve. I put about ten prints through the process, and this one came out the best.

Cat. Corciano, Italy 2008

In 2008, I spent a few months studying abroad in Europe. I shot thousands of photos, but this was always one of my favorites.

Stian

Stian "Scuba" Myras was my freshman year roomate. He is a Rubiks Cube Master who has created his own set of moves to solve the puzzle. He leaves for Iraq in two days and I wish him the best.

Cusco

This is my dog, Cusco. Her absolute favorite activity is playing with sticks.

Zach Diekman - Spring Break 2010

This is a photo from my spring break trip to Oregon, one of the most amazing weeks of my life. Eight friends in two cars headed to the pacific northwest with the only goals being skateboarding and camping. I created a magazine of the trip... available here

Old deck in the ditch

I have kept every skateboard I have ever ridden and attached them to the trees lining the irrigation ditch at my parents house. I have been photographing in the ditch for five years, and until recently I had never photographed it while it was full.

Spike

This is my roomate's cat, Spike. He brought this rabbit to the porch, played with it for a bit, then started to devour it. I have never seen a cat kill such a large animal, let alone eat it.

Boise Weekend

This is the owner of Prestige Skateshop, Paul. He has a made-to-skate backyard pool which can only be described as... beautiful

Hamilton - Coast to coast krooks

A few weeks ago I went to Boise with Logan, Hamilton, Mia, and Evan. It was seriously one of the most fun skate trips I have ever been on. Everyone in Boise was very nice and hospitable to us. I hope we can get another trip back there soon.
